The Beatles - Blackbird
The sweetness and simple beauty of this song suits perfectly my feeling about Monsieur Willy Ronis, R.I.P...

YACHT - Psychic City (Classixx Remix)
DFA brings, as usual, quality music with this new band called YACHT (Young Americans Challenging High Technology) who involves a couple, Jona Berchtolt and Claire L. Evans. The album "See Mystery Lights" came out this summer and will surely accompany us till the next one
They sound like delight, and, as they say, they know how to make life go on .
Cool handclaps, rock, poetry, pop, delicate, catchy bass...
Here is a remix from Classixx i can't keep from playing in every set these days.

The The - Uncertain Smile
I wanted to post that track since a long time, but today seems to be the day.
Jean-Marie Delbes, a great selector who plays at Le Baron sometimes, put that tune on a night i was not expecting to be out.
As usual in that case, you always meet someone/something that makes your night.
This track made my night.
The The was introduced to international fame with this 1983 album "Soul Mining".

Dinosaur L - Go Bang!
Dinosaur L: "Go Bang" (1982), from 24-24 Music. Sleeping Bag Records. Vocals by Lola Blank, Arthur Russell, and Julius Eastman.
Charles Arthur Russell, Jr. (May 21, 1951 – April 4, 1992) was an American cellist, composer, singer, and disco artist. While he found the most success in dance music, Russell's career bridged New York's downtown, rock, and dance music scenes; his collaborators ranged from Philip Glass to David Byrne to Nicky Siano. Relatively unknown during his lifetime, a series of reissues and compilations have raised his profile in the 2000s.
Candi Staton - Victim (Jack Torrance Edit)
Ok, you might all know about "Young Hearts Run Free", but Mrs Staton is not a one hit wonder singer, and she is one of our favourite soul/disco singer.
"Victim" is taken from the 1978 album "House Of Love", and she said this song was her favourite one.
So, here is exclusively for MG a quality edit by our friend Jack Torrance.
Play it loud, and dare say you don't feel like dancing!

Mary Clark - Take Me I'm Yours
Here we are, back for good.
As you can see, the blog is so fresh and so clean, thanks to the imagination of Moristache and Jens.
So, today i'd like to introduce you to one of my favourite tracks since my friend Jack Torrance made me listen to it a year ago.
Real modern soul, that's been recorded in the late 70's (maybe 1979) and produced by Patrick Adams and Billy Nichols.
Please, listen and enjoy the realness.
